I can't edit certain areas of a template

There may in fact be specific reasons for this that the email designer/developer has decided not to allow for. Contact them to find out.

What are components and how do I use them?

Components are elements that can be added in throughout your email, like a button. If components are available for your template, you will see a left sidebar while in edit mode with a 'Components' tab. You can drag a component into a text area you are currently making changes to. You will see a blue line where your component can be dropped in.

What are sections and how do I use them?

Sections allow you to change the layout of your email. If sections are available for your template, you will see a left sidebar while in edit mode with a 'Sections' tab. You can add a section in-between other sections by dragging them in. You will see a blue line where your component can be dropped in.

What are layouts and how do I use them?

Layouts are different kinds of email formats you can save and reuse. For example, you may have a certain layout for your newsletters and another one for announcements. Your layouts can be managed via the 'Layouts' tab on the left sidebar when you are in edit mode.

Once I've uploaded an image, how can I change the way it's being cropped?

You will need to upload the original image again and you will be given the option to crop it. Cropping is based on the proportions of the original template image.

What is 'alternate text'?

Images have an option to display text in case the image does not load. It also acts as a description when someone mouses over the image.

How do I add a new template?

Click ‘Import Template’ at the top.

How do I delete a template?

Click on the ‘x’ icon on the upper right corner of the template you want to delete.

How do I add a new email for a template?

Click the ‘New email’ button on the right of the template you want to create the email based on.

How do I duplicate an email?

Click on the icon with the two documents on the right side of the email you want to duplicate.

How do I send a test email?

Click the icon with the up arrow. On an email view, click ‘Share & Export’ in the upper right. You will be given an option to send a test email.

How do I download an email?

Click the icon with the down arrow. On an email view, click Share & Export in the upper right. You will be given options for either downloading or a copying the email code.

How do I export and send with my email provider?

Click the icon with the down arrow. On an email view, click Share & Export in the upper right. You will be given options for either downloading or a copying the email code. In your email service provider, find the import/HTML option to either import your HTML file or paste the HTML code.

How do I add an editor?

From the Dashboard, click on 'Invite/remove editors' under the template you want to add someone to. On the Editors dashboard, enter the Name and email of the person you want to bring on and they will receive an email invite.

How do I resend an invite email?

On the Editors dashboard, click ‘Remove’ and add that user back in by using the invite fields at the top.

How do I remove an editor?

On the Editors dashboard, click ‘Remove’ next to the user you would like to remove from the template.

How do I share an email with someone to preview?

From the Dashboard, click the icon with the up arrow. On an email view, click ‘Share & Export’ in the upper right. You will be given options for either sending a test email or a copying a preview link.

How do I log in?

You can log in by going to blocksedit.com and clicking on ‘Sign In’ at the top. Or directly at app.blocksedit.com.

How do I activate my account?

You will receive an email with a link for activating your account. If you have not received the email, please check your Spam folder. If you are unable to find it, ask to be invited again.

How do I update my profile?

Click on your avatar in the upper right and then ‘My Profile’. On the profile screen you can edit your name, email and title as well as upload an avatar photo.

How do I change my password?

Click on your avatar in the upper right and then ‘My Profile’. Then click on the ‘Change password’ link at the bottom.
